Born 31 January at Baragwanath Hospital,he lives in Orange Farm. He went to Lesedi La Kreste Anglican School and is currently studying at Thamsanqa Secondary School. Thando grew up in a musical family with his father, mother and older sister being singers.
He started singing at the age of 6 in the school choir, in 2012 at 10 years he was featured by Skipper Tshabalala (Lucky Dube’s guitarist on a song called “No Education”.
He has an older twin sister, his mother Gabisile Mdluli is a well known session singer and a backing vocalist with an endless list of credits to her name including the Lucky Dube band. Sadly Thando’s father passed away in 2010 while he was in Grade 4, his father was also a singer.
When Skipper Tshabalala brought him to Borza Studio in 2012, Spijo immediately knew he had a prodigy in his hands. Mid 2015 Borza Entertainment signed Thando and began recording him, his debut single is called Pressa Pusha Phanda. The song is extremely popular, is sure set to light up dance floors across the country. His hobbies include art, playing soccer and watching TV.
